Ravens 24 Jets 23
The Jets lost there 2nd preaseason game to the Ravens on Monday night. Mark Sanchez started off bad throwing an interception for a touchdown but rebounded to throw a touchdown pass to Leon Washington later in the game. The same was said for Kellen Clemens who did the same.

Ace vs Ace in Fenway
The Yankees face the Red Sox tonight in an Ace battle between CC Sabathia and Josh Beckett. Sabathia is 14-7 on the season and Josh Becket is 14-4 on the season. This should be a great game to watch with alot of excitement.

Mets lose to Phillies in rare fashion
The Mets lost 9-7 to the Phillies today at Citi Field. In the bottom of the 9th inning as Jeff Francoeur was batting he hit a line drive up the middle right at Bruntlett the second baseman who caught the ball, stepped on 2nd and tagged Daniel Murphy for an unassisted triple play to end the game. Pedro Martinez gets the win and Oliver Perez gets the loss.

A crazy night in Fenway
The YAnkees beat the Red Sox in the first game of a 3 game series 20-11. The Yankees had 23 hits and the Red Sox had 12. Hideki Matsui drove in 7 runs and Alex Rodriguez went 4-4. Andy Pettitte got his 11 win of the season going 5 innings and allowing 7 runs on 7 hits.

Marshall to Jets?
The Jets may be interested in trading for pro bowl Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall. Marshall is unhappy with the Broncos and does not trust them. The Mets are looking to bounce back and get a win with Johan Santana on the mound today vs the Padres. Santana is 12-8 on the season and hopes to get the Mets a much needed win at Petco Park. Pagan Lifts Mets in the 8th
The Mets won today 9-6 behind the late inning hero Angel Pagan. Pagan ripped a grand slam in the 8th inning to break a 5-5 tie and put the Mets in the lead to win the game. The Mets had a grand time as Pagan's grandslam puts a W in the record books putting them 6.5 games out of first place in the Wild Card.

No Deals... Yet
The trade deadline is over and the Mets didn't make a move. But Omar might not be done, there may be possible pickups from waivers or the Mets might just be comfortable that reinforcements are going to be back soon. Beltran, Reyes, Delgado and Putz may be back by mid to late August and if so the Mets could be back in buissness. They could be looking at a serious run at the wild card if back to full health.

Mets reportedly have some interest in acquiring Scott Kazmir from the Rays, The Rangers are possible suitors as well. Kazmir is 4-6 on the year with a 6.69 ERA and 58 Strikeouts. I don't see this happening but who knows it's possible.

No more Distractions...... Or Not
The Mets Organization fired VP of Player Development Tony Bernazard for allegedly picking fights with minor league players and scuffling with K-Rod on the Team bus. But at the press conference that didn't seem to be the main discussion. Mets GM Omar Minaya accused Mets Beat Writer Adam Rubin of reporting the stories of Bernazard to eventually try and aquire a position in the Mets front office. Adam Rubin responded in his defense indicating that it wasn't true. Just when you thought it was going to help it just got worse. About ten minutes prior to the start of the game on monday Omar released a semi apology to the media for his accusitions.
