The Red Sox have made a deal with the Mets to claim Closer Billy Wagner. In return the Mets got 2 prospects to be named later.

Ravens 24 Jets 23

The Jets lost there 2nd preaseason game to the Ravens on Monday night. Mark Sanchez started off bad throwing an interception for a touchdown but rebounded to throw a touchdown pass to Leon Washington later in the game. The same was said for Kellen Clemens who did the same.

Jets vs Ravens Preview

The Jets are at M & T Bank Stadium to take on the Ravens in Baltimore. Mark Sanchez will start at Quarterback for the Jets. The game is on ESPN at 8:00 pm ET.

Mets lose to Phillies

The Mets lost to the Phillies today 6-2. Cliff Lee is the winner and Bobby Parnell gets the loss. In other news Jeff Francoeur is going to get an MRI on his right thumb and Johan Santana will miss his next start. Injuries what else is new.

Ace vs Ace in Fenway

The Yankees face the Red Sox tonight in an Ace battle between CC Sabathia and Josh Beckett. Sabathia is 14-7 on the season and Josh Becket is 14-4 on the season. This should be a great game to watch with alot of excitement.

Mets lose to Phillies in rare fashion

The Mets lost 9-7 to the Phillies today at Citi Field. In the bottom of the 9th inning as Jeff Francoeur was batting he hit a line drive up the middle right at Bruntlett the second baseman who caught the ball, stepped on 2nd and tagged Daniel Murphy for an unassisted triple play to end the game. Pedro Martinez gets the win and Oliver Perez gets the loss.

A crazy night in Fenway

The YAnkees beat the Red Sox in the first game of a 3 game series 20-11. The Yankees had 23 hits and the Red Sox had 12. Hideki Matsui drove in 7 runs and Alex Rodriguez went 4-4. Andy Pettitte got his 11 win of the season going 5 innings and allowing 7 runs on 7 hits.

Mets release Livan

The Mets have released pitcher Livan Hernandez to make room for Billy Wagner. Wagner may become trade bait and the Red Sox have been rumored to claim him from waivers.

Mets top Phillies in first game

The Mets beat the Phillies 4-2 on friday and Mike Pelfrey got the win going 9-8 on the season. Jeff Francoeur hit his eleventh homerun on the season and K - Rod got his 27th save of the season.

Marshall to Jets?

The Jets may be interested in trading for pro bowl Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall.  Marshall is unhappy with the Broncos and does not trust them. If that deal happened it would boost the Jets offense and take alot of pressure of the starter Mark Sanchez thats right i said it the starter Mark Sanchez. 

Mark Sanchez to Start

According to Rex Ryan Mark Sanchez will be the starter for the second preseason game against the Ravens for Monday night football.  Rex Ryan will face his former team in which should be a great game.

Santana help!!!

Johan Santana will start tonight for the Mets as they start the rubber game of the series tonight at Citi Field at 7:10 pm.  Santan is 13-8 on the season and looks like the only reliable starter the Mets have.  Hopefully they can score some runs for him and get the win tonight.

Yankees head to Fenway

Andy Pettitte will pitch on Friday when the Yankees take on the Red Sox at Fenway.  Pettitte is 9-6 on the season with an era of 4.09.  For the Red Sox Brad Penny will hit the mound with a record of 7-7 and an era of 5.22.

Yanks take rubber game from Athletics

The Yankees beat the Athletics 3-2 in the last game of the series.  Mark Texiera provided all the offense for the Yankees, he homered in this game.  Alfredo Aceves gets the win as the Yankees improve to 76-45 on the season.

Mets get hammered by Braves

The Mets lost to the Braves on Wednesday 15-2.  Bobby Parnell was the starter for the Mets and was very shaky in his third start.  He allowed 9 hits and 9 runs over 3 innings and got the loss.

Yanks beat Oakland 7-2

CC Sabathia and the Yankees continue to be hot as they beat the Athletics 7-2 on Tuesday.  The Yankees scored 7 runs off of 12 hits in this game and CC Sabathia became the MLB's first 14 game winner.

Mets get comeback win to top the Braves

The Mets rallied in an 8 run 4th inning.  Gary  Sheffield had a big at the plate going 3-5 with 2 rbi's and a run.  Oliver Perez got the win and is now 3-3 on the season.

Pettitte looks to keep Yanks rolling

Andy Pettitte will pitch tonight for the Yankees with his record of 9-6 on the season. Pitching for the Mariners is lefty Ryan Rowland - Smith who is 2-1 on the season. The game starts at 10:10 pm at Safeco Field.

Parnell gets his second start for the Mets

Bobby Parnell will be the starter tonight as the mets take on the San Fransisco Giants at Citi Field at 7:10 pm. Parnell is 2-4 on the season and his counter part pitching for the
Giants will be Barry Zito. Zito is 8-10 on the season and has been pitching well as of late. Gary Sheffield and Anderson Hernandez will start in tonight's game.

Eli Manning has officially signed a 6 year contract extension with the New York Giants worth 97 million dollars making him the highest played player based on annual income with an average of about 15.3 per year.





Yanks beat up on Mariners and Snell


The Yankees beat the Mariners 11-1 on Thursday. Hideki Matsui had a tremendous night at the plate going 4-5 with 2 homeruns 4 runs and 5 rbi's. CC Sabathia gets the win going 8 innings allowing only 3 hits 1 run 2 walks and striking out 10. CC is now 13-7 on the season with an ERA of 3.64.

The Jets have signed rookie kicker Parker Douglass. Douglass is a 24 year old rookie from South Dakota State and is 5'8 and 175 pounds.

Mets beat D-Backs 6-4

The Mets won today 6-4 beating Arizona in the last game of this series. Everyone contributed today and Omir Santos was a key factor in this game blocking the plate and tagging out the runner to prevent a run. K-Rod gets his 25th save of the season. The Mets look to rest up as the have the day off tomorrow.

Yanks do it again

The Yankees make a late inning come back win courtesy of Robinson Cano's walk off single in the 11th inning. He also homered in this game as did Johnny Damon. They won 4-3.


Yanks get comeback win

The Yankees beat the Blue Jays 7-5 in comeback fashion on Tuesday. Jorge Posada and Hideki Matsui both homered in this game and Mariano Rivera earned his 33rd save of the season last night.

Mets fall to D-Backs 6-2

Livan Hernandez struggled early and allowed 6 hits, 5 runs and 3 walks. The only offense that was provided for the Mets came from a solo home run by Jeff Francoeur and Alex Cora's rbi single. They wrap up the last game vs the dbacks today at 3:40 at Chase Field.

Beware Osi's back !!!!


Osi Umenyiora is preparing hard for a comeback year now that he is back to full health since missing the entire season last year. He has been working very hard during mini camps to prepare himself and his teammates for the long season that lies ahead. QB's beware he's back.....

Jets Update

Darrelle Revis, Kris Jenkins, Nick Mangold and Damien Woody will sit out the 1st Preseason game versus the Rams Friday due to injuries but have been stated as minor injuries.


Joba Joba Joba

The Yankees play the Blue Jays tonight at Yankees Stadium at 7:05. Joba Chamberlain will be on the mound for the Yankees. Joba is coming off a so - so start against the the Red Sox his last time out. He is 8-2 on the season with an ERA of 3.73.

Mets vs Diamondbacks Preview

The Mets will face the Diamondbacks tonight at 9:40 pm. Livan Hernandez will start tonight for the Mets and Max Scherzer will start for Arizona. Hernandez is 7-6 on the year with an ERA of 5.08 and Scherzer is 6-6 with an ERA of 4.01. David Wright will get the night off today hoping to rest up for the next game.

Sanatna shines on the mound and at the plate

The Mets beat the Padres in the last game of the series Sunday 5-1. Johan Santana went 8 innings allowing 5 hits, 1 run, 2 walks and 4 strikeouts getting his 13th win of the season.  But he didn't stop there, Santana went 2-3 with a walk, two singles, an rbi and a run. K rod came in in the 9th and got his 24th save of the season.

Brooms in the Bronx

The Yankees completed a 4 game sweep of the Red Sox on Sunday winning 5-2.  Johnny Damon and Mark Teixiera hit back to back home runs in the bottom of the 8th inning and Mariano Rivera gets his 32 save of the season.

Johan to stop the bleeding?

The Mets are looking to bounce back and get a win with Johan Santana on the mound today vs the Padres. Santana is 12-8 on the season and hopes to get the Mets a much needed win at Petco Park. Hopefully the bats will wake up for Johan who generally does not get any run support when he hits the mound.

Yankees going for sweep

Andy Pettitte is looking to go the distance tonight versus the Red Sox to complete a 4 game sweep. Pettitte is 9-6 on the season with an 4.35 ERA, and Jon Lester will pitch for the Red Sox tonight. Lester is 9-7 on the season with a 3.79 ERA this season for the Sox. This is going to be a good game having lefty vs lefty on the mound for both teams.

K-Rod not so perfect after all

Oliver Perez had an outstanding performance in San Diego friday striking out 7 and allowing only 1 run. But in the bottom of the 9th inning K- Rod allowed a walk off grandslam and the Mets lost 6-2.

Mets VS Padres Preview

The Mets travel to San Diego for a 3 game serie at Petco Park. The game starts at 10:05 and Livan Hernandez will be the starter for the Mets tonight with a 7-5 record and an ERA of 4.77. His counter part will be Clayton Richards for the Padres with a record of 4-3 with an ERA of 4.47.

Yankees VS Red Sox Preview

The Yanks host the Red Sox tonight at Yankee Stadium at 7:05. Joba Chamberlain will pitch for the Yankees with a 7-2 record and a 3.58 ERA. For the Red Sox it will be John Smoltz with a record of 2-4 and a 7.12 ERA. This is the first game of the a 4 game rivalry series.

Mets shutout Cardinals in rubber game

The Mets beat the Cardinals on Wednesday 9-0 in which was a tense game for both teams. Following the Pujos hit by pitch David Wright was nearly struck in the face by a pitch in the 6th inning. But Wright hit a 2 run blast to right center afterwords. Angel Pagan also homered in this game.

Yankees 8 Blue Jays 4

The Yankees beat the Blue Jays on Wednesday 8-4 completing the last game of the series. Alfredo Aceves gets the win going to 7-1 on the season. Nick Swisher and Johnny Damon both had solo shots in the win.

Mets Vs Cardinals

The Mets host the newly updated Cardinals tonight at Citi Field. Johan Santana is on the mound for the Mets with a record of 12-8 on the season. Pitching for the Cardinals is Joel Piniero with a record of 9-9 on the season. Hopefully the Mets can get back on their winning streak before the reinforcements come.

Yankees VS Blue Jays

The Yankees play the Blue Jays tonight and Andy Pettitte will hit the mound for the Yanks. His counter part is Roy Halladay. Halladay is 11-4 on the season and is coming of a bad outing his last time up. Pettitte is 8-6 on the season for the Yankees.

The Mets lost the final game of the series to the Diamondbacks on Monday 6-5. Nelson Figueroa left the game in the second inning after giving up 6 runs.

The Mets lost today 5-2 and Pelfrey gets the loss. Francoeur homered and Alex Cora had an RBI double but it wasn't enough to get it done.

Yankees 8 White Sox 5

The Yankees beat the White Sox 8-5 as CC Sabathia gets the win going to 11-7 on the season. Melky Cabrera hit for the cycle providing most of the offense for the yanks.

Yanks VS White Sox

The Yankees play the White Sox today at 2:05. CC Sabathia will take the mound against Mark Buehrle. CC has a 10-7 and Buehrle has an 11-4 record. Buehrle has been as close to perfection as possible and looks to continue against a Yankees team that struggles against teams with the name Sox in them.

Mets VS Diamondbacks

The Mets play the Diamondbacks today at 1:10. Mike Pelfrey pitches for the Mets and Jon Garland goes for the Diamondbacks. Pelfrey has a 8-6 record with a 4.72 ERA and Jon Garland has a 5-10 record with a 4.42 ERA.

Pagan Lifts Mets in the 8th

The Mets won today 9-6 behind the late inning hero Angel Pagan. Pagan ripped a grand slam in the 8th inning to break a 5-5 tie and put the Mets in the lead to win the game. The Mets had a grand time as Pagan's grandslam puts a W in the record books putting them 6.5 games out of first place in the Wild Card.

Yankees 4 WhiteSox 14

The Yankees lost today 14-4 and are on a 3 game losing streak. A.J. Burnett struggled allowing 7 runs on 10 hits putting his record for the season at 10-5. Mark Teixiera, A- Rod and newest teammate Jerry Hairston Jr. all had RBI singles with the only provided offense.

No Deals... Yet

The trade deadline is over and the Mets didn't make a move. But Omar might not be done, there may be possible pickups from waivers or the Mets might just be comfortable that reinforcements are going to be back soon. Beltran, Reyes, Delgado and Putz may be back by mid to late August and if so the Mets could be back in buissness. They could be looking at a serious run at the wild card if back to full health.

Yankees Get Hairston

The Yankees traded Minor League Catcher Chase Weems for The Reds Jerry Hairston JR. Hairston has played 6 different positions this year and he is batting 254 with 8 homers and 27 RBI's. He also has some speed that could benifit the stolen base factor for the Yankees.

Mets 2 Rockies 4

The Mets were snapped of their 5 game winning streak losing the last game of the series versus the Colorado Rockies. The look to keep on the winning track versus the Arizona Diamondbacks in a four game series at Citi Field.

The Mets play the final game of the series tonight against the Rockies at Citi Field which is the second game of a double header today. Jonathan Niese will take the mound tonight for the Mets when the first pitch will be thrown at 7:10

It's A Girl!

Jerry Manuel told the press after the game today that Luis Castillo and his wife gave birth to a daughter earlier on in the day. Castillo may be back to play the second game of the double header today versus the Rockies.

The Mets continue their hot streak by beating the Rockies in the first game of the double header today 7-0.  Johan Santana threw a great ballgame going 7 innings allowing only 4 hits and 1 walk striking out 8 batters.  He gets the win improving his record to 12-8 and the Mets now have a 5 game winning streak.

Yankees 6 Rays 2

The Yankees beat the Rays 6-2 with a dominant performance by Joba Chamberlain. Joba went 8 innings allowing only 3 hits and 2 walks and striking out 5. On the offensive side Melky Cabrera, Robinson Cano and Mark Teixeira all homered in this game.

Yanks and Arroyo?

The Yankees have been linked to several discussions that there is a bit interest between them. Bronson Arroyo is 10-10 on the season with an ERA of 5.17 and 79 strikeouts. Whether it's Arroyo or not look forward to the Yankees making a possible deal for another pitcher to add to a rotation that is struggling as of late with the 4 and 5 spots in the rotation.


Wang done for the season

Chien - Ming Wang is going to have shoulder surgery that will end his season this year with the Yankees.

Beltran's Latest Status

Newsday's David Lennon reported that Mets OF Carlos Beltran wore a knee brace and was hitting in the indoor batting cages at Citi Field today. Beltran wants to return as soon as possible but as he told reporters earlier on during the week, his bruise on his knee has not improved much. Carlos is steadily increasing his workload so he can get back to his normal health sooner.

Another Lefty?

The Mets may be looking for another left handed arm for bullpen. Danny Knobler from CBS Sports has confirmed Jon Heyman's initial reports of this possible occurance.

Mets VS Rockies Postponed

Today's game versus the Rockies has been postponed untill tommorrow. Tommorrow will be a double header against the Rockies. Game 1 will be played at 12:10 pm and the finale of the 4 game series will be played at 7:10 pm.

The Yankees lose to the Rays 6-2 and CC Sabathia gets the loss as Scott Kazmir gets the win. Kazmir goes to 5-6 on the season. Hideki Matsui contributed the only offense for the Yanks going 2-4 with 2 RBI's

The Mets defeated the Rockie again 4-0 being carried by Mike Pelfrey's great performance. Pelfrey went 6.1 Innings allowing 7 hits and 3 walks with 5 strikeouts. He got the win and improves his record to 8-6.

Interest In Kazmir?

Mets reportedly have some interest in acquiring Scott Kazmir from the Rays, The Rangers are possible suitors as well. Kazmir is 4-6 on the year with a 6.69 ERA and 58 Strikeouts. I don't see this happening but who knows it's possible.

No more Distractions...... Or Not

The Mets Organization fired VP of Player Development Tony Bernazard for allegedly picking fights with minor league players and scuffling with K-Rod on the Team bus. But at the press conference that didn't seem to be the main discussion. Mets GM Omar Minaya accused Mets Beat Writer Adam Rubin of reporting the stories of Bernazard to eventually try and aquire a position in the Mets front office. Adam Rubin responded in his defense indicating that it wasn't true. Just when you thought it was going to help it just got worse. About ten minutes prior to the start of the game on monday Omar released a semi apology to the media for his accusitions.

The Yankees beat the Rays on Monday 11-4,
Carrying the Team was Nick Swisher blasting two solo shots and Cano with one of his own. The Yankees are playing very well since returning to play after the All-Star break. They take on the Rays again @ Tampa Sabathia will take the mound VS Scott Kazmir.

Mets VS Rockies 7/27/09
The Mets beat the Rockies 7-3 with the late help of Fernando Tatis's Grand Slam to lift the Mets in the bottom of the 8th. The Mets now have a 3 game winning streak let's see how it goes from there. Go Mets!!!
