The trade deadline is over and the Mets didn't make a move. But Omar might not be done, there may be possible pickups from waivers or the Mets might just be comfortable that reinforcements are going to be back soon. Beltran, Reyes, Delgado and Putz may be back by mid to late August and if so the Mets could be back in buissness. They could be looking at a serious run at the wild card if back to full health.

No more Distractions...... Or Not
The Mets Organization fired VP of Player Development Tony Bernazard for allegedly picking fights with minor league players and scuffling with K-Rod on the Team bus. But at the press conference that didn't seem to be the main discussion. Mets GM Omar Minaya accused Mets Beat Writer Adam Rubin of reporting the stories of Bernazard to eventually try and aquire a position in the Mets front office. Adam Rubin responded in his defense indicating that it wasn't true. Just when you thought it was going to help it just got worse. About ten minutes prior to the start of the game on monday Omar released a semi apology to the media for his accusitions.
